The Best Online Drives
There are so many of those "free" file hosting websites. However, many (almost all of them) do not make your files private and are not secure. To make it into my "elite" list, they had to keep your files private unless you make them public. They also had to have no security/spyware/virus problems according to Site Advisor by Mc Affee.
ADrive Free 50GB
As the title says, ADrive offers you a free 50GBs of space. That is probably enough for a lifetime. You can store files of all types on it, like your music and your movies. All files are kept public, but what's nice is that the files can be up to 2GB, so you basically don't have any restrictions. If you wish to make any of your files public, you may do so by just clicking the "Make Public". The uploader uses Java, so if you don't have it you may want to get it. Another good feature about the Java uploader is that it tells you the exact amount of the file that is transferred and how much time is left. If you aren't good with technology, then I suggest that you use the Basic Uploader. In that, you don't actually see the progress, but you do get to upload the files. Even though the site is out of Beta, it was in Maintenance Mode, which is when some accounts can't access it recently, so I don't know what's up with that. Otherwise, I totally recommend it. Go to ADrive.
Oosah Free 1TB
Yup. 1 TERABYTE FOR FREE!!!! That is more than you will ever need. However, they are still in Beta. It is optimized for mobile, so you can upload from your iPhone iTouch, or other mobile device. The space is limitless, but to make each file private, you must remember to uncheck the public box. There is a limit of 200mb, which may change, on each file. It sometimes says "Uploading is Disabled", so not the most reliable service. However, I have not ever had a problem with downloading anything. Everything is free, so there's nothing to worry about.
These websites are for online storage. However, most people go straight to RapidShare or MegaUpload to share their files. However, a great site that I found in research for this is FileDropper. The limit is a huge 5GB. Compare that to the 200mb RapidShare limit.
